Therapeutic Horticulture

About

Enhancing well-being through the transformative power of plants, therapeutic horticultural classes are designed to promote holistic health across the six domains of wellness: physical, mental, spiritual, creative, emotional, and social. As a certified therapeutic horticultural ally through Root in Nature and trained in High Five® Principles of Healthy Child Development, I offer dynamic programs for both children and adults that use plant-based activities to foster connection, creativity, and calm.

Adult and all-ages sessions may include experiences like flower bouquet making, mindful gardening, and nature-based art to encourage restoration, self-expression, and balance.

Children’s classes are thoughtfully designed to support developmental growth through age-appropriate, hands-on activities such as pot painting, seed planting, nature crafts, and exploring sensory gardens. With a strong foundation in the High Five® principles, each session provides a safe and engaging environment where kids can connect with nature while building confidence, emotional awareness, and social skills.

Whether you're a parent looking for enriching activities for your child or someone seeking holistic healing through nature, therapeutic horticulture offers a grounded, nurturing path toward well-being.

Therapeutic horticulture is an ancient practice, long used by Indigenous cultures to foster healing, connection, and well-being. At KV Wellness, we honor these roots by integrating nature-based healing practices with respect for Indigenous wisdom. We remain committed to learning, listening, and acknowledging those who have stewarded this land for generations. KV Wellness acknowledges that we operate on the traditional lands of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Mississaugas. This land is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, a commitment to share and protect the resources of this region. We honor and respect the long-standing relationships Indigenous peoples have with this land and the knowledge they have shared about nature’s healing power.
